Poppea, Penelope, Diana, Helena veya İsveç Kraliçesi gibi ilk dönem İtalyan operalarının ana kadın karakterlerini bir araya getiren albüm 'Si Dolce e'l tormento', 'Pur ti miro' gibi Barok hitlerin yanında Provenzale'nin kantatı ya da Rossi'nin İsveç Kraliçesi Ağıtı gibi daha önce yayınlanmamış parçalar içeriyor.

Bu leziz ve zarif repertuar Anne Sophie von Otter'le birlikte Fransız soprano Sandrine Piau (üç nefes kesici düette), Susanna Sundberg ve Barok müziğin yükselen yıldızı Leonardo Garcia Alarcon ve orkestrası Ensemble Cappella Mediterranea tarafından seslendiriliyor. Following best-seller Love Songs with Brad Mehldau and a new recording of Berlioz's Les Nuits d'ete with Marc Minkowski, Sogno Barocco is the third project of eclectic Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter on naive.

Dedicated to the main female characters of the Italian first opera such as Poppea, Penelope, Diana, Helena or the Queen of Sweden, this very clever program gathers together baroque hits such as 'Si Dolce e'l tormento' or 'Pur ti miro' and unreleased pieces such as the amazing cantata by Provenzale or Rossi's Lamento of the Swedish Queen.

This delicate and subtle series of baroque jewels is performed with an amazing cast, starring French soprano Sandrine Piau - in 3 breathtaking duets - and baroque rising star Leonardo Garcia Alarcon. One of the current best specialists of Italian baroque, his orchestra and him bring amazingly new colours to this repertoire.

This new release is offered with a 76-page booklet including complete sung texts and essays by Von Otter, Alarcon and musicologist Vincent Borel. It also includes 3 instrumental pieces by Cavalli in world premiere recording.
