Buenos Aires - une nuit de tango offers a fascinating selection of Argentinean music recorded live in Buenos Aires. It aims to create the intimate feeling of an evening spent in the places where tangos are played and sung around the city. The set features musicians whose remarkable talent has been acknowledged for several decades: Leopoldo Federico, Roberto Alvarez with Color Tango, Rubén Juarez, and the Osvaldo Montes / Aníbal Arias Duo. It also includes young groups that are following in the footsteps of their illustrious forbears, including El Arranque, Vale Tango and Narcotango. The DVD that accompanies these albums features excerpts from concerts given by the groups heard on the CDs as well as documentary segments about the musicians. The sequences include asados, or family gatherings, during which family members sing and eat grilled meat together, dances in neighborhood clubs, professional dancers performing and views of the city of Buenos Aires, a city whose heart beats to the rhythm of the tango.
