<br><br>The premiere release of chamber music by Giovanni Benedetto Platti. Platti was born in Venice and received a thorough education there. He moved however north (as many of his compatriots did) and settled at the court of Würzburg, where he was highly regarded as an oboist and composer.<br /> <br /> The oboe sonatas on this disc are delightful and brilliantly written for the instrument (Platti must have been a real virtuoso..).
