Recorded live at the London Hippodrome 25/10/2007. The late rock & blues guitarist & singer-songwriter Gary Moore (who died in 2011) pays great homage to legendary late guitar maestro Jimi Hendrix in 2007 (London Hippodrome) in this great CD release titled 'Blues For Jimi : Live In London'. This CD (12 tracks) captures Gary Moore playing blues rock music from Jimi Hendrix's early works : Gary Moore is incredibly great on guitar & vocals that would make both Gary's & Jimi's fans very proud. One can almost hear as if Jimi Hendrix is playing as on "Hey Joe ", an indication of how Gary Moore can match the brilliance of Jimi Hendrix's style of guitar playing in this CD! Gary Moore is also joined by Mitch Mitchell (on drums) & Billy Cox (on bass) of the Jimi Hendrix Experience band in the bluesy 18 minutes gem "Red House ", "Stone Free " & my favourite " Hey Joe ". Stand-outs/gems/solid tracks include "The Wind Cries Mary " (wonderful guitar work, melody & vocals), "Angel " (incredible slow-tempo track), "Red House " & "Hey Joe " (beautiful guitar work as Jimi would play, great melody & vocals). Great tracks include the opening track "Purple Haze ", "Manic Depression ", "Foxey Lady ", "I Don't Live Today ", "Fire ", "Stone Free " & the closing track "Voodoo Child (Slight Return) ". Okay track is "My Angel ".<br /> <br /> On overall, Gary Moore brings Jimi Hendrix's great blues rock music back to life in this tribute titled 'Blues For Jimi' which fans of both legends could be pround of. A recommended CD listening.
