<P>Lorenzo Palomo is one of the most successful contemporary Spanish composers. His <i>Cantos del alma</i> (Songs of the Soul) are settings of four poems by Juan Ramón Jiménez, "a composition in which voice, clarinet and orchestra... establish a poetic dialogue, both intimate and idyllic". Palomo's <i>Sinfonia a Granada</i> (Granada Symphony) was written in response to a commission from the area's regional government. The composer himself has written, "I have been faithful to the most authentic Andalusian music, introducing a number of Arabic and Hebraic melismas as well as cadences characteristics of flamenco".Eser Listesi
