<br><br>Michel Blavet was a highly accomplished and appreciated eighteenth-century flute virtuoso in France. Today any flautist still knows him, but generally his fame is rather limited. At the time, however, the flute, his performances and his (flute) music were extremely fashionable. <br /> <br /> This release contains most of Blavet’s instrumental i.e. flute music. Flautist and Baroque specialist Jed Wentz has made lively and well-researched new recordings with his ensemble Musica ad Rhenum.<br /> <br /> Other information:<br /> - Of this entertaining repertoire, especially the Suites, there is very little competition on the market.<br /> <br />
