ENGLISH

Jim Hall's "Concierto" has remained in esteemed company ever since its original release in 1975. Issued by Creed Taylor's CTI imprint, it's among the most accomplished titles in the acclaimed label's history and has always been an audiophile staple, to boot. ORG Music's audiophile 180g vinyl pressing takes the prized record even further. Mastered from the original master tapes by Bernie Grundman, "Concierto" now possesses heightened levels of fluidity, airiness, and presence. The soundstage is immense, and pinpoint instrumental images rest against ink-black backgrounds.

Anchored by the guitarist's moving interpretation of one movement from Joaquin Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto (arranged by Don Sebesky), "Concierto" resonates with sublime performances and astonishing melodies. Joined by the Hall of Fame front line of Chet Baker and Paul Desmond, and assisted in the back by pianist Roland Hanna, upright bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Steve Gadd, Hall approaches transcendence on each tune. The ensemble's cover of Cole Porter's "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To" and its exploration of the Hall original "Two's Blues" are the equivalent of the standout title track.

A jazz masterwork in every conceivable way, Jim Hall's "Concierto" sounds positively brilliant on ORG Music's 180g vinyl pressing. An audiophile spectacular for the ages!
