ENGLISH

The last ten years of Mozart's life, spent in Vienna, coincided with the growing development and popularity of the clarinet. In particular, Mozart found inspiration in the playing of the Stadler brothers, resulting in his Clarinet Concerto and Clarinet Quintet for Anton Stadler. The Five Divertimentos were also probably written for the Stadlers. They were originally designed for the related instrument, the basset-horn, but first published posthumously as a complete set in the present scoring for two clarinets and bassoon.
