A powerful, energetic performance and explosive dynamics bring this UHQCD into your listening room. For over forty years the Japanese percussion group Ondekoza has been making the tradition of playing the Taiko known outside the Asian continent. The percussionists undergo daily hard physical training to build the strength and endurance necessary for the strenuous performances. Fujiyama is an impressive proof of the troupe's skills.
UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but are moulded from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. To protect the softer photopolymer from scratches, a further layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied.
The combination results in a significantly reduced reflection of the laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the sound is very similar to that of analog master tapes.
