<P>These historic performances commemorate the violinist Joseph Szigeti's friendships with three of the greatest composers of his time. He was the first great player to take up the Prokofiev <i>Concerto No. 1</i> while the Bloch <i>Concerto</i> was written specially for him. The Bartók piece is a reminder of the close collaboration Szigeti enjoyed with the composer, in both Europe and America. Szigeti included the first <i>Portrait</i> at his farewell concert in Budapest in 1939, with the composer present.</P>Eser Listesi
